If motivation, willpower and control are so wrongly interpreted with regards to getting in shape how do we make sense of any of it?
The issue stems from the desire for control. The worse you have felt about your fitness the more desperate for control you become. You may pretend to give up and feel defeated but deep inside you just feel out of control.

Control as it relates to human feelings and behaviour is not a switch it is a dial. You have to think in terms of cycling and long and short timeframes. It just isn’t a black and white problem, in fact it isn’t really a problem at all.
Once you stop trying to create impossible control measures and accept that your body sends mixed messages you can get on track. These mixed messages simply need to be sorted through and you have the ability to make logical decisions, that is your control.
