We have shown how motivation, willpower and control get significantly confused in fitness. How then can we control the outcome of our efforts?
The only actual and reliable “control” you have is the ability to make educated decisions. As daily happenings provoke varied feelings you can allow it to just wash over you. Your responsibility is simply to sort through it and learn to become picky with your reactions.

The more you know about your habits the easier it is to sort through their side effects and to build better ones. The more you track and plan the simpler the decision making becomes. And most importantly:
The more willing you are to try things and fail on the small scale the less you will fail on the large scale.
