“Just do it” resonated with a lot of people in the 80’s and 90’s, it was a call to stop everything that was stopping you. It’s a fact, starting something like a committed exercise program is like facing a fear. Doing that thing that makes you feel high hesitancy takes a clear change of mindset.
We often say:
“Start where you are with what you have”
We may sell personal training at our own facility but the truth is getting started is the toughest part. We always just do a casual consultation with new individuals rather than a workout because we need to check if you are actually ready to start. We can’t do the workout for you and though we make the workout safe and efficient….we don’t make it easier.

Our recommendation, grab a sturdy chair and a couple of dumbbells and just get going. Pick them up lift them over head then put them down. Do it careful and slow. Hold them up and stand up and sit back down as many times as you can….just get going. Just get into it and learn as you go. Be careful and be regular. Remember all the time you have spent not working out and just do short sessions. And “just keep doing it”, it will grow and build on itself in time.
Just smile to yourself and say – ok, let’s do this!
Be well, be strong,
Andrew and Tierney
