Stop Pretending

Stop pretending you know the future, it’s a game we play to rationalize weak choices. Stop pretending that eventually you will get around to exercise and fitness. You only have now. What is around the corner let alone down the road won’t be real until it is…and if you’re not in shape to handle it regret won’t help.

Basically what we remind people of on a regular basis is this:

“The future is uncertain but we are certain you will want to be strong”

It’s that simple. Physical strength is always hugely helpful but so is the process which goes into building it and sustaining it. When you maintain a weekly commitment to the strength of your body and health you maintain a capability many lack. This is the ability to pivot and respond to things which crop up somewhat unexpected. Stress comes in countless forms and strength is the best coping mechanism. Strength of body feeds strength of mind. Strength creates resolve, the ability to wrestle with issues as well as adapt to them.

Right now as you read this your ability to do anything from completing basic life tasks to staving off life threatening disease is entirely dependent on your strength. Stop pretending about the future – your life is right here and now.

Be well, be strong,

Andrew and Tierney
