An unimaginable amount of evolutionary time has made us masters at finding easier, less harsh ways to live…until now. We have moved from overcoming problems to avoiding them. There is a subtle but ultimately life altering distinction here.

Technology has now outpaced evolution and as a result we have moved towards imminent self-destruction. On a personal and global level our ability to dominate and manipulate our environment has taken over. Our natural inclination towards easier lifestyles often results in lowered health and accelerated aging.
How do you identify when you are killing yourself with kindness?
Be an adult, establish in clear terms who you are. No sliding scale full of excuses and rationalizations but real honest fixed standards.
– What should your health level be?
– What should your lifestyle consist of?
– What is unacceptable and needs to be dealt with as soon as it crops up?
When you avoid setting standards you open the door to deceptively clever twists of character. You make willpower futile and discipline impossible. Set the bar and never lower it and perhaps in time you will raise it.
Be well, be strong,
Andrew and Tierney
