It’s a true peculiarity in the world of health and fitness that woman are far less likely to strength train than men. Even a cursory view of this diagram is enough to make a simple fact clear.
“Woman need to build and preserve lean muscle even more than men”

Strength is the primary predictor of disease and disability outcomes. Age related strength/muscle loss (sarcopenia) is basically the beginning of all poor outcomes from ill health.
The fact that woman typically have less muscle than men means their metabolism and protection against stress could greatly benefit from strength exercise. It is high time the medical community got in front of educating the female population that there is more to fitness than fat loss.
