Life at the Top!

I’m sure folks get tired of hearing the term goals, goals…goals! What we try to explain to our personal training clients is goals are better than willpower. Willpower is designed for short periods, goals are your friend day in and day out.

Andre pictured below is the fellow we spoke about in our last goal based post: https://wefit.ca/2018/04/02/forget-willpower/ . He successfully hit the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro and this facilitated him in getting in the condition he wanted.

Again willpower overused backfires and in the long run will deflate your self-confidence. A goal gets your mind off the daily grind and lets you keep your eye on the result you desire.

Climbing a mountain is simply a clear example of this. Just consider – you want to be in the kind of shape to exert a certain amount of effort for a certain amount of time. Without a height measured to reach how high will you actually climb on willpower? Set the height ahead of time and everything morphs into meeting the needs of that effort. The end result…you get where you really want to be.

Congratulations Andre and daughter Michelle for being powers of example, life is for the living.

Be well, be strong,

Andrew and Tierney
