We speak loudly and sternly about the general medical community not prescribing fitness. For years we have detailed the serious health protection of being strong and fit. Working out is pure proactive medicine.
It does not appear that exercise and nutrition will become a front line fundamental in medicine anytime soon. The life and lifestyle protection of staying in shape is a message parents need to teach. Of all important things to learn as a child matures, taking care of oneself is a top priority.

We need to lead by example, we need to walk the walk and lift the weight. Parents need to work at it because kids are watching and mimicking. This is more than sports and gym class. We’re talking about fundamentals like staying strong and trying to remember real food.
Bodies that are allowed to weaken are bodies that promote disability. Everyone is safer from poor health if they have fitness as a friend. Parents have a responsibility to their child’s well being and physical fitness is key.
