The Canadian Healthcare Singularity.

“Nearly 75,000 Canadians have died waiting for various types of health services, from cancer treatment to MRI scans, since April 2018, according to government data released by the non-profit, public policy think tank SecondStreet.org.”

As WeFit.ca hits its 10th year we hesitate celebrating because of news like this. A big part of why we started this blog was because we saw the Canadian healthcare singularity approaching. Two generations of people who we’re not informed by the medical community that what is happening…would happen.

The blame game about affordable healthcare is a dead end. The fact is you cannot expect any system to survive an exponential increase in demand. Emergency life saving technology and a sudden switch to a physically easy modern lifestyle has proven to be a double edged sword.

Medically assisted suicide and more complicated drugs is not a solution. And before you say it….no there’s never going to be enough tax money or fiscal responsibility to even make a dent in the need. Remember that 75 000 who passed just waiting is relative to a small amount of total people, Canada has a low population. The number passing because of lack of the full care needed is likely far higher.

February marks our 10th year and the writing is on the wall – preventative, strength saving healthcare is desperately needed.

Be well, be strong,

Andrew and Tierney
