Group adherence can equal group support. Doing what the group is doing increases the chance you will receive the acceptance thus benefits of the group. This supports enjoyable activity and general socialization.
The more important you make an activity the smaller and more specialized your group becomes. Thus if you make your health as important as it needs to be, you find group solutions leave much to be desired.
The choice when it comes to effective exercise, nutrition etc….is not either/or. If it is a serious thought a personalized path is impossible to ignore. Your body is as dissimilar to others as it is similar.

Find out what you need in order to get what you want. This will require a unique level of honesty and an honest level of effort but it is worth it. Dis-ease, weakness and reduced life quality is far more difficult albeit sometimes spread out and dragged out over decades.
