The Top 2 types who should lift weights!

Wouldn’t you know it, the 2 types of people who need strength exercise the most are the least likely to do it. Yes we’re talking about seniors and woman.

The 2 groups with the least amount of strength and most need for it are the most susceptible to weakness related disease and injury. Lack of lean muscle is directly linked to poor outcomes with disease (frailty) and injury (bone/joint).

Why is it males are doing most of the strength training? Likely because it suits their natural form. The fact is females are born with less muscle and as we all age we lose what we don’t use. Thus it could be said that middle aged woman should be the ones most likely to begin strength exercise if they haven’t already.

It is natural that people do what they are good at but that doesn’t work with health. Health comes from “doing what is needed“. We would hope that the medical community spreads the word and helps us raise awareness!
