Ozempic/Semaglutides

Semaglutides like Ozempic connect with the GLP-1 receptors in your body. GLP-1 are receptors primarly found – endocrine pancreas, central and peripheral nervous systems, gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system, kidney, and lung. As well they have been detected in the liver in PCR experiments.

Eating more fiber, lean protein, healthy fat, and water-rich fruits and vegetables can increase GLP-1 naturally and help with weight loss. Some small studies show that certain supplements — like berberine, curcumin, and ginseng — boost GLP-1 levels.

Our position is semaglutides are powerful thus contain inherent risk. Chemically mimicking natural physiological functions often results in atrophy (weakening and paralysis). Furthermore, rapid loss of weight includes loss of fluids and tissue which are actually essential to health.

While there may be claims that “safer than Ozempic” semaglutide drugs are on the way our experience and expertise as healthcare professionals leaves us skeptical. This route to physiological change is emergency/temporary intervention at best.

At a bare minimum remember to maintain your strength if you choose to use such drugs. If you lose your strength you will amplify the side-effects of these type of drugs.

Be well, be informed,
