If you have osteoporosis/lack of bone density you have weak bones and will be prescribed medication. This medication basically works by reducing your bodies ability to slough off old bone in favour of building new bone. The idea being if you aren’t producing it fast enough slowing down replacement will help. Unfortunately long term use puts to sleep your ability to build new bone….and old bone cells aren’t always healthy.

You aren’t producing new bone fast enough because the stimulus for such is lifting heavy weight. The healthy answer is obvious.
“Exercise training, especially RE, is important for the maintenance of musculoskeletal health in an aging society. RE stimulates MPS by activating a PI3K-Akt-mTORC1 signaling pathway.”
