Tough Love

The reason why you’re not taking care of your health the way you know you should isn’t because you’re just lazy. It isn’t because you know what you should do but just don’t get around to it. It isn’t because you are flawed and keep failing and it isn’t because there’s something wrong with you.

To deal with your lack of fitness you need to accept two basic things:

1. The negative self-talk is a fraud you perpetuate to let yourself off the hook. A half hearted self flogging to justify not taking better care of yourself.

2. You don’t know what to do. It isn’t that you know how to set up and monitor your fitness but just aren’t doing it. What you know doesn’t work, if it did you are as self interested as the rest of us…you’d do it.
